Foodies rejoice! Relish Food and Wine Festival returns to Maryborough’s Portside on Saturday 4th June, from 10am to 5pm, showcasing the best produce from across the region, plus local cafes and restaurants, award winning wines, craft beers and gourmet food stalls.
The festival began in 2013 and celebrates regional produce and our food industry, connecting local growers and producers with local restaurants and cafes; strengthening our food industry. The 2015 Relish Food and Wine Festival was the biggest yet, with over 3000 foodies enjoying the fantastic variety of local food and produce. No doubt this year will be even bigger and better, with a fresh and spicy program that’s sure to impress.
Held in Maryborough's historic Portside Precinct and stunning riverside parklands, you can expect a day packed to the brim with the finest seasonal produce, including mouth-watering Hervey Bay scallops, Fraser Island prawns and macadamias nuts. There will be wine and cheese tastings, wine masterclasses, cheese making demonstrations, beer and food matching sessions, competitions, live music, kids’ entertainment and live cooking demonstrations with Australian celebrity chefs such as Matt Golinski! Best known as one of the original team members of the popular ‘Ready Steady Cook’ television series, Matt has worked as executive chef at some of Queensland’s top restaurants including Ricky Ricardo’s in Noosa Heads, and founded his own catering company, Rolling Dolmade.
