Celebrating the beautiful bounty of fresh seafood available in Hervey Bay, this is the only seafood festival in Australia managed by the people who catch the seafood for you! A fun day out for the whole family, the festival offers a selection of beautiful local seafood, wine, music, celebrity chefs and a lucky gate prize.
There will be a huge range of dishes to try at a variety of stalls, including the world famous Hervey Bay scallop, along with a variety of prawns and fish. So you can cruise around and try whatever takes your fancy! If queues are not your thing, you can avoid lining up and order the Gourmet Seafood Picnic Box in advance – it features a delicious selection of local seafood such as Hervey Bay tiger prawns and Moreton Bay bugs.
If you prefer a more formal, sit down experience, the festival’s signature event is the ‘Tastes of the Bay’ long lunch, a pop-up seafood and wine restaurant hosted by Andrew Mirosch, Executive Chef at Sirromet Winery’s Restaurant Lurleens and one of Queensland’s most respected chefs. This indulgent experience includes four courses of local wild caught seafood matched with award winning Sirromet wines.
The festival also features cooking demonstrations throughout the day, with leading chefs from Brisbane and the local area offering tips on catching, cooking and making the most of the local catch.
